This Coke Bottle was Produced to Celebrate
the Opening Night - Hilton Theatre April
28th, 2005.
Canadian impresario Garth Drabinsky tore
down The Apollo and Lyric Theatres to
create Ford Center For Performing Arts in
1997, which housed his production of the
musical Ragtime.
Clear Channel Entertainment joined forces
with the Hilton Hotels Corporation to
rename the Ford Center for the Performing
Arts the Hilton Theatre, beginning January
2, 2005.
Built by the producer of the
highly-acclaimed 'The Phantom of the
Opera', Garth Drabinsky, this theatre has
struggled a good deal for its survival. It
stands where the Apollo and Lyric Theatres
once stood, and was initially known as The
Ford Center for the Performing Arts.
Rocked by several financial implications,
it was finally bought over by The Hilton
Group. Up to 1,800 people can enjoy each
performance at this award-winning theatre.
But it's 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', which
sets the stage on fire this year.
